Elaine Gartner lives on the edge of the city and the forest in Bentonville, Arkansas, with her loving husband and rambunctious twin boys. A lifelong student of spirituality and holism, the author is also a longtime champion of children’s literature and the difference it can make in young lives.
She graduated from Sarah Lawrence College with a concentration in filmmaking and literature, and went on to not use that degree at all by becoming a certified Reflexologist, Face Reader, and Usui Reiki Master Practitioner. She is now immersed in the world of mommyhood, holistic modalities, and authorship--aka exactly where she wants to be.
The Far Corners is Elaine's big debut and blends together all the things she loves-- spirituality, fantasy, philosophy, and talking animals, of course! It went on to win a Moonbeam Children's Book Award, which would make Willoughby the squirrel very proud, indeed! Elaine's sophomore effort, Curriculum Vitae, is a hilarious autobiographical account of all the outrageous jobs she held in her twenties--a perfect gift for any college grad!
